Garage Door Before & After in Denver, CO
Photos don’t exaggerate. They show what a failed torsion spring looks like at 6 a.m. in January, and they show the door running smooth after we’ve left. Every project here includes the documented photo record our customers receive, tracing back to the rule Marcus Deller founded Servo on in 2015: you see the failed part before anyone quotes a replacement. Clause 4 of The Haven Standard.

Torsion Spring Failure in Park Hill - Same-Day Repair
The call came in at 7:15 a.m. The homeowner’s car was trapped. The torsion spring measured at 0.243-inch wire diameter and showed a clean break at the coil - classic fatigue failure after roughly 12,000 cycles in Denver’s dry climate, which accelerates metal fatigue compared to more humid regions. We carry 28 common spring sizes on the truck, so we matched the wire gauge, inside diameter, and length on-site. The new spring was wound, the door balanced, and the photo record delivered by 9:30 a.m. The customer left with a written 365-Day Done Right Promise and the failed spring in a bag.
Full Door Replacement in Stapleton - Insulated Steel Upgrade
This Stapleton home still had its original door from the neighborhood’s first phase. The uninsulated steel panels transmitted every gust off the plains, and the single-layer construction had taken enough hits that three panels were creased. We measured the opening, discussed R-value options, and delivered a written flat price for a 2-inch thick insulated steel door with an R-10 rating - critical for Denver’s temperature swings, where a south-facing door can hit 140°F in summer and below freezing overnight in winter. The new Clopay door went in two weeks later, with new vinyl weatherstripping and a reinforced opener bracket. The photo record shows the old track angle, the new vertical lift geometry, and the sealed perimeter.
Opener Logic Board Failure in Cherry Creek - LiftMaster Replacement
The opener was six years old, which is early for a logic board failure, but a recent electrical surge in the Cherry Creek area - we saw four similar calls that week - had damaged the control circuitry. The trolley carriage hung at mid-travel, and the force sensors wouldn’t calibrate. We tested the motor winding, the capacitor, and the travel module before confirming the logic board. Rather than replace just the board and leave aging mechanical components, we presented two written options: board-only or full opener replacement with a new LiftMaster 84501R. The customer chose the new unit for the updated MyQ integration and battery backup. We programmed the limits, set the force sensitivity to account for the door’s weight, and photographed the rail angle and safety sensor alignment for the record.
Emergency Cable Off-Drum in Montbello - 24/7 Callout
The cable didn’t fail - the drum set screw had backed off, probably from vibration over years of cycling. The door was cocked hard to one side, and the homeowner correctly didn’t force it. This is where we flag the danger: a garage door under spring tension with a displaced cable can shift unpredictably. We don’t recommend DIY reseating. Our technician released the tension safely, inspected the drum for scoring, reset the cable with proper winding, and torqued the set screw to spec with thread-locking compound. The photo record shows the loose set screw, the scored drum groove, and the final cable lay. The call came in at 10:40 p.m. We were on-site by 11:20 p.m. with a named technician and an on-the-way text - live person answered, no callback window.
Bottom Seal and Weatherstripping in Highlands Ranch - Not Denver Proper, But Close Enough
Okay, Highlands Ranch is technically its own municipality, but we were already in the area and the customer had our written estimate from a prior call. The existing seal was UV-brittled, which happens faster at Denver’s elevation with 25% less atmospheric filtering. Gaps at the corners let in meltwater and, based on the evidence, something small and persistent. We replaced the seal with an EPDM rubber bulb-type rated for -40°F, swapped the jamb weatherstripping for new vinyl with aluminum retainer, and sealed the header gap with brush seal. The photo record includes a tape-measure shot of the gap before and the sealed perimeter after. Written price before work started: $187. No change at the door.
Wayne Dalton TorqueMaster Conversion in Wash Park
Wayne Dalton’s TorqueMaster system encloses the spring inside a steel tube, which looks cleaner but complicates replacement. The spring inside this Wash Park unit had reached cycle limit after 14 years - not bad for the original. We presented two written options: factory TorqueMaster spring replacement, or conversion to a standard torsion system with a 2-inch shaft and cast iron drums. The customer chose conversion for future serviceability; any technician can work on standard torsion, while TorqueMaster requires specific knowledge and parts. We installed new bearing plates, a 2-inch hollow shaft, and matched the spring to the door’s 187-pound deadweight. The photo record shows the old tube assembly, the new shaft and springs, and the wire size stamp on the spring tag. Clause 1: the $647 flat price was written and agreed before we touched a wrench.
